La Belle Cake Company Celebrates 10th Birthday

Award winning wedding and celebration cake company, La Belle Cake Company celebrates 10th Birthday this month.

Established in 2006 by Shelly Shulman, this local company is proving that it is possible to buck the trend and prosper in the current economic climate. They have survived the double dip recession and all the trials and tribulations of self-employment. All this in a highly competitive industry that is fast becoming over saturated.

Since forming La Belle Cake Company, Shelly has nurtured a growing business. Over the years they have won the numerous awards. They have even creating cakes for royalty.

Celebrations have already started, with Leighton Buzzard Mayor Councillor Ray Berry visiting the studio on North Street on Saturday 2nd April. Photographer Gareth Millar on hand to capture all the fun.

La Belle will continue with further celebrations throughout the month.

About La Belle Cake Company by it’s owner Shelly Shulman

La Belle Cake Company is a well-established cake boutique situated in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. A hobby baker working from home, I established the company in 2006 under the name Cakes by Shelly. In 2012 I relocated to my current studio location due to increased demand for my creations. As my brand began to grow, so did my reputation. I undertook a brand appraisal and decided that the name Cakes by Shelly was no longer a fair representation of my business. As the business had grown, it was no longer just myself working in the business and it was considered the name Cakes by Shelly sounded too ‘home-bakerish’. In 2015, we undertook the decision to rebrand the company as La Belle Cake Company . We felt this name represented the company we had grown to be; stylish, elegant, high quality and refined. Since making the change we have not looked back.

Established in 2006, we are now in our 10th year of trading, focusing on giving our customers a high-end, 100% edible product. Our cakes are made with the best ingredients and skills available whilst offering value for money.

What started as a hobby back in my childhood, when I used to create cakes with my late grandmother, has now grown into a very successful thriving business and I’m extremely lucky I have a career I adore.
